of $15,000 Raised
Kristen Bonkoski

As you may know, our family of three is headed out for a year on the road.  As we travel across North America, we will be raising money for World Bicycle Relief.  We love biking (obviously!), and have been working for several years now to get more kids on bikes thru our blog, Rascal Rides.

At home, there are so many reasons why getting kids on bikes is important. Biking creates a vital connection with nature, reduces obesity, provides exercise, builds community, increases confidence, reduces air pollution, and on and on. When it comes to children in less privileged parts of the world, a bike provides all of those things and so much more. It means that they can get to school, and they can do so without living in fear. It means that their family can get to a doctor.

Our goal is the raise $15,000 for World Bicycle Relief. That equates to 100 bikes for students in Africa.  We are asking friends, family, colleagues, and total strangers we meet on the road to make a small donation to World Bicycle Relief. $15,000 is an enormous (and somewhat scary goal), but we believe in the power of small contributions adding up to something big and powerful.

Any small donation helps.  $25 builds a new wheelset.  $50 buys a mechanics toolkit.  And $147 buys a "buffalo bicycle" for a student.

We’ve seen it with our own eyes, have experienced it in our own lives, and know this is true:  bicycles have the power to change the world.

Please join us by donating now.  You can also follow learn more about our efforts and our trip at Rascals on the Road.

Thank you!
